Title: The Missing Simon
Post by: Simon on April 04, 2013, 12:06:28 PM
Ello all. Yes sorry for the time away form the forum. That has been partly deliberate and partly accidental.

The deliberate part of it has been that I didn't wish to spam the forum with all the Shineback developments. This is after all a place for Tinyfish stuff. That isn't to say that I will be totally ignoring The Fishtank during this Shineback push as I love hanging out with everyone here but well you know, a time and a place.

The accidental part is down to change and opportunity. Since going the music route full time, all the daily routines I once had i.e., cycle to work, make a cup of tea, read emails, clear work and then leap onto the forum to see the latest, has been flung out of the window. I'm having to rebuild a new routine from the ground up and that is difficult as the vast majority of the things that I'm doing are either totally new or radically transformed.

In addition, I've discovered that my Arsebook page serves as an excellent method of quick communication between myself and the outside world on matters both on music and non music related so I have been spending time there along with Twitter to help cement new music ties. One thing I have very quickly noticed is the main difference between facebook and twitter:

Facebook (Joe Blogs/John Doe): Hey I'm eating an ice cream!

Twitter (Simon Pegg/Dr Dre): Hey I'm eating an ice cream!

I know that's a massive simplification and both are very different creatures but that is an elemnt which is glaringly obvious.

I'm finally finding a rhythm to my time now and it still involves reading and replying to emails first thing (1 hour), but then goes on to checking facebook/twitter (which I couldn't do at work - 30 mins), guitar practice/writing (1-2 hours), personal admin/food shopping (30 mins-1 hour), ACTUAL STUDIO WORK (4-8 hours depending on what I have on that day), then food, porn, etc in the evening.

If you don't believe me, have a word with Wilf as he's been ghosting me on a lot of the work. I'm really not kidding you when I say that I have absolutely no idea how I managed to fit all this stuff in when I had a day job (how Wilf does it, I will never know). Anyways up, and to cut to the chase, the transition period is now darwing to a close and while I won't be posting here anywhere near as much as I used to for the duration of the Shineback/RoSFest/Celebr8 promo stuff, I will be returning in full force (you poor bastards) once we all get started on the Tinyfish DVD and new album.

Up up, and away!

I totally agree and I also know you enjoy looking at the pictures more than the writing.

The thing that really stood out for me was that Tinyfish are doing a new album  ;D

I'm too used to pressing the 'like' button and keep forgetting we have a 'slap' machine here instead.  :)

It just occured to me that any new Tinyfish album should have liner notes written in the format of a Fishtank thread. Or two.

And that was the best idea I will have all day.
