I would go to all of those if I could.

Maybe the Fishtank should arrive en mass in matching t-shirts and stand right at the front of the last two shows. Then not get out of the way and obstruct the set change for the final band.

Maybe.

think I will do a couple of those but I will get out of the way cos I don't want to see the headliners more than I want to annoy their fans

I am hoping that Simon will be playing at Celebr8.3 as I cannot make any of the other gigs now I've spent all my gig money and some of my holiday on going to that.

I think 3 for me.  Have asked 'permission' but that is just a formality.

a*** - he is at a gaming thing in Birmingham and he is also at Eurogamer when Summers End is on

xbox widow I don't mind - but when it involves him leaving the house...

Simon was briefly telling me his plans for the house gig, and, although I was too tired to concentrate, it does sound like a good one.  Also, as things stand, 60% of Tinyfish will be there.

Last night supporting the Enid was good. We got a lot of cheering, even though it was the fewest number of known faces in the crowd ever :-)

Matt joined in on All Hands Lost, and the Enid's photographer asked me if I was there to do the lights :P

Mark Colton's 50th Birthday Bash - 29th March 2014, Riffs Bar.
What a thoroughly enjoyable event. Almost a complete festival crammed (and I mean crammed) into one evening. I arrived to find the carpark full, and Rich Harding & Simon Rogers doing their Neo-Deals thing to a full pub. They were followed by Mark Colton with his old band Casual Affair (with Jon Boyes) playing a very good set - honestly, I really think they should get together more often. Then it was time for Simon to instruct us in the way of the acoustic power-chord and inventive introductions, and he played a few songs. For the last song, he was joined on stage by Kim from Touchstone, which was a nice way to end the set. (Note: apparently the Motherland album in physical form is out on Monday - honest guv). As many of us retired to the back of the pub for a brief chat, Andy Sears began his set, which I admit to not hearing a great deal of because it seemed to be slightly lower in volume, but I know he finished with a Twelfth Night tune. Then it all got a bit louder again, as Credo played an epic-filled set, everybody cheered, and Mark got the kids on stage again (well it was his evening and his gig). Finally, Comedy Of Errors finished the night in their own neo-prog style, but by then the pain had kicked in and I made my escape after a couple of their songs.
Six acts, a full venue, loads of mates, many introductions, jolly good fun, and all for 10 - can we do something similar next year please?

I really enjoyed the evening.  Which is just as well, as we got back at 1:45GMT.

I'd certainly like to see it happen again, possibly with some changes - same format starting about 3 hours earlier, for example so as not to run so far into the night.

It was wonderful to see so many people at Riffs.  The only time I've seen it that busy was for Pendragon.  It was also good to see some non-playing muso's turn up.

Tremendous fun, really enjoyed all of the acts.  Did not stay to see Comedy of Errors as I had a long drive.  Would have loved to get home by 1.45.  It was either 2.30 or 3.30 depending on the clock I looked at.

Great to see so many friends but sad I missed so many of them playing. Hurrah for Johnny Boyes!

I think that I might go along to that one.

Simon isn't playing that many gigs, so it would be a shame to miss one.  It was a co-incidence that the venue for the last gig, which I couldn't go to, burnt down.

I think it may be a very long time before Simon plays another set in the UK.  The house gig was videoed.  Rob - is there any chance that some of this will make it into the public domain.  Or perhaps the public isn't ready for that.

I would of but I saw another Giltrap Wakeman gig was cancelled (presumably again because of lack of presales) but I was planning to turn up on the night.

The only ones that were cancelled were the ones where Simon was doing the support slot.

I'm not complaining as getting to Balham from Heathrow would have been a real pain.

Cheers Mike. It was a normal pub with normal pub lighting, so in other words yes.
