Thanks for the Italian suggestions!  PFM are definitely a force to be reckoned with.  The Watch are amazing!  I got to interview those guys last year when the recent album came out.  Not only were they very informative, but they definitely put a lot of thought into their production and lyrical content.  For anyone interested I will be doing an Italian based show a week from this Tuesday.  This week we are celebrating the Olympics through prog.

Cheers,
Woody

Another one for you guys:

A man who is sitting at a resteraunt notices that all of the waiters are carrying lots of spoons in their aprons.  He stops one and asks about the spoons.  "Well, with all of the customers we have here, inevitably spoons get dropped, or they need more.  So in order to be more efficient we just keep them on our person".  Satisfied with the answer, the man goes back to his meal.  He them notices that the waiters all have a string attached to the zipper of their pants and asks about this.  "Well we waiters have to move fast to take care of customers as quickly as possible, so in the interest of speed we use the strings to unzip when we have to take a bathroom break.  This way we don't have to wash our hands every time, and the customers get quicker service".  The man thought about this for a moment and then said, "I don't mean to be to personal, but how do you, you know, get out your equipment, readjust..."  The waiter just looks at him and says, "Well, I don't know about the rest of the guys, but I use the spoon myself"

Cheers,
Woody

Ok, that said, you sound like you know something or 2 about Italian prog.  So, are there any bands you can point me to?

Ok wait...
So there is a prog scene within Second Life?  That is crazy...I just do not have time to do any second life stuff as the first life is crazy enough.  That said, I wonder if there is an easy non-time consuming way to get into second life and hang out with the other progophiles.

Cheers,
Woody

Another Blond joke for you:

A blond walks into the library and tells the librarian she would like a hamburger.  The perplexed librarian says "Maam this is a library".  So the blonde lowers her voice, and whispers, "I would like a hamburger"

AT the moment I am checking out Goblin, an Italian prog band that I did not know much about before.  I am trying to ready a show in which I feature lots of Italian Progressive rock...it is just hard to know where to start.

Also worth checking out is:
Cyro Baptista- Latin Jazz percussionist- fantastic new album called Banquet of the Spirits.

I will second you on the Beardfish...also check out new Presto Ballet for some true 70s style prog.  The guys only use 70's era equipment.

Cheers,
Woody

Being american I do not know what this means, but congrats to your daughter anyway.

Cheers,

Can I be a proud or even, dare I say it, smug parent?

Today my daughter won a GOLD Blue Peter badge!  I'm as proud as punch!

Think of all the zoo's and museums we can get into now!  Shocked

New job starts on Monday  Yay!!!  After almost 8 weeks out of work, I was going quite mad.  Also, hanging out with friends and playing Wii Fit, and learning that yes indeed, I am out of shape (ok perhaps I did not smile about that, but it was no surprise since I had trouble lifting the tv remote the other day  Smiley.

Woody

I did a Finnish Prog show a few weeks back.  I can reccomend a few of those guys: Jeavestone, Velvet Desperados, Overhead, and Circusfolk.  All of these bands were pretty amazing and deserving of some credit.

What, no Lordi?

Now listening to the in game music from Age of Conan.

Would you say that Lordi is prog?

I want to thank everyone for hopping in the chatroom and hanging out.  I am sorry that the applets and format caused so much trouble, but if you have winamp and a good IRC program things run very smoothly which is why Dividing Line has adopted these.  Although I will not be able to play Tinyfish every week, you guys are welcome to stop by anytime.  It is very exciting to have a room full of people who are enjoying the tunes and chatting about music.  For those who were unable to make the show, it can be found in a podcast format at www.thedividingline.com/ss

I look forward to future events of the same ilk  Smiley

Cheers,
Woody
