I see that they've canceled the Leamington Spa gig.
I'm still seeing them the night before in London so it's not a huge loss, in fact the worst part will be fighting the new HR leave booking system to change my days off.

Enjoy Eppyfest.
I shall be somewhere or other in London Village for Tom Slatter's album launch show.

After that it's a bit of a lull with only one show before it all kicks off in September and I burn a third of my year's leave in October.

I saw Leon in The Simon and Garfunkel Story (again) on Saturday. I asked if he was able to bring his Bongos to Chepstow to help Simon and Rob out at SE this year.
He's well up for it but might be stuck in Holland for all of October. We joked about how it would be like the House Gig at Rob's if he could make it and he said he'd try his best to get there if he could.
I then mentioned that 'there' was in fact Wales to which he swore.  Grin

I saw Gun on Tuesday night. Wow that brought back memories.
The Camden Underworld was filled with rockers of a certain age singing their hearts out to "Taking On The World", "Word Up", "Steal Your Fire" and the rest of the classics that they played.

Never heard of them - are they French neo-prog ?
Yeah, promoting their new album "La montagne de sel"

Anyhoo. I've booked into the same place as last year.
7  Tinyfish Wibble / Other Bands / Re: Maiden United - O2 Islington - 3May on: February 02, 2015, 09:05:18 PM
I'm going.

I'm debating whether to see them the day before at a festival in Ormskirk. There's some good bands booked for the weekend but I don't yet know which are on each day.
Some bloke called Matt Stevens is playing so at least there's time for a curry  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

It's a long way so 'd have to go up the night before and come back Saturday night to be able to get to Islington in one piece.

Maiden United also have a new album available for pre-order. It comes out after the gigs though.

Good photos Mike. I've been super slow with sorting mine out.  Angry But will try to get those, plus Epica's, up before Sunday's Touchstone show.

The school was an excellent venue but I felt sorry for the proggers traipsing up the hill to get there. Not easy if you don't have a car.
Pah! I remember overtaking quite a few as I strode up that hill on the Sunday.

Good luck with your New Trolls discussions.

Another great weekend. I even made good time getting home on Monday. I have a reasonable pile of CDs to listen to and only 1200 photos to sort through.

If anyone knows a version of Concerto Grosso by New Trolls that actually sounds like what they played then I'd be interested. This one doesn't really hit it.

Simon suggested spending a minute slagging off Whimwise to honour Jim's memory :-)
The world needs a few more well articulated strong opinions now that Jym is gone. I'll miss him.

He was right about Whimwise, I remember quoting Spinal Tap to Moo at SE'07: "There's a fine line between clever and stupid".

God damn Spock's Beard were good last night. I've still got that post-gig buzz going on...

After the disappointment of last years shows I wasn't sure whether to go or not. The band worked really well together, Ted was obviously having fun (apart from sweating his clothes to his skin).

There were a few technical gremlins but nothing to spoil things.

I wish I could see them in London tonight.

Are there any of those sampler CDs left?
I could pick one up at the curry.

Glad you guys are having fun!!
15  Tinyfish Wibble / Other Bands / Re: Summers End 2014 new venue announced! on: May 21, 2014, 08:12:40 PM
Ticket booked.

You know, I'd completely forgotten about the calendar that I'd apparently paid for as part of last year's ticket until the website reminded me.

I should probably get in training for it this year. For the sake of my feet.
