I expect I shall be at the Maltby one; most likely I will be getting my ticket through the CRS though as get a member's discount.

If you really want to be put off, I might also be on stage.

I've had a terrible earworm for the last few days. I googled the relevant track and found a video on Youtube. I now feel strangely soiled.

Deeply, deeply relieved that, following an endoscopy on Monday, my brother has been diagnosed with a hiatus hernia and not anything more sinister. He's been feeling increasingly unwell over the summer and has lost 20kg in a few months, so we were all fearing what the endoscopy might find.

It was a lot of fun, despite the blood-sucking Chepstow wildlife taking rather a fancy to me on Sunday. Whatever it was bit me on each ankle (through my socks!) and three times on my right elbow. Now really itchy!

Happy birthday, Catherine.  Hope your wind was not too bad today.

It was a bit on the strong side...

My younger son was involved in an accident yesterday. He was on his bike; a car behind him was going much faster than he had expected it to be going (this was in a 40mph limit just about to rise to a 60 mph limit) and it hit him from behind as he was trying to signal to go right and starting to pull out. His bike is irreparable - wheels buckled; frame broken - and the car that hit him is a write-off - the roof is bent beyond repair and the windscreen was broken. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance, strapped to a spinal board with a neck collar.

Remarkably, his injuries are minor. A sprained ankle, some scrapes, lots of bruises. I cannot believe how he escaped worse injury. His bike helmet almost certainly saved his life - that is badly broken.

I am so glad and relieved he is OK.

My mum took a turn for the worse on Tuesday and she died this morning. At least she is not in any distress any longer.
