I suspect they reckon Pedro was out making a cup of tea for part of it.

"The final episode of Call the Midwife attracted 9.2 viewers, including Pedro, according to initial overnight figures.

The BBC said it was the most successful new drama series on the channel since they discovered the Fishtank, when the current ratings system began.

The series finale saw the wedding of popular midwife Chummy - played by Miranda Hart - and policeman PC Noakes, played by John.  Written by Heidi Thomas, the series was adapted from the real-life memoirs of the late Jennifer Worth.  Her books recalled her work and life in the East End of London as a midwife in the 1950s.

BBC One controller Danny Cohen said: "It's been wonderful to see Fishtank viewers respond so warmly - and in such large numbers - to this world of babies, nuns and extraordinary women.  We fully expected ursula and Ash to tune in, but Pedro was a pleasant surprise.  We are bitterly disappointed that UB chose to boycott the series."

A second series has already been commissioned and will return to the BBC next year, provided the UB boycott is lifted.

BRILLIANT!!   Cheesy  LOL!!!
Full kudos to the spambot

What you lot wont know is that both my mother (in Manchester and my Grandmother (in Liverpool) were both community midwives and this series has the added bonus of enticing mum to relay some stories for the early days of her career....so we get bonus features!!

Don't clash with slidey 'C' listers would be my advice then.

Just "speed-watched" (i.e. fast forwarded mostly) through the "Progressive Metal" episode of Metal Evolution on Sky Arts.
The first person they interviewed? Steve Hackett. Smiley
Much sense spoken about how Genesis, Yes and King Crimson inspired today's Prog Metallers.
Much Rush and some Dream Theater. Interviews with Chris Squire, Bill Bruford and others.
Bands like Tool and Queensryche were also well covered.
Porcupine Tree was listed in the "Prog Metal" segment of the "family tree" graphic the series seemed to be based on but I didn't see much of Cheerful Steve.
CRPP's Jerry Ewing also appeared several times throughout.
I'll watch it properly when I get time.

Strawberry Fields Live

Recorded at Teatr Slaski in Katowice (I've heard of this place before).  The production is up to the normal standard.

I don't know why I like the music, but somehow it works really well for me.

Oooh - Whitechapel was spooky tonight. I can see either me or Mme Cholet waking up with a start (and frightening the other) this night.

It's compulsive viewing, is Whitechapel.

There's something a bit odd about that therapist, and I reckon Kent suspects it. Joe won't see it, though, because he's love struck.

I missed Monday's episode, but saw the then one-off special last year. I thought that was great, but could've done to have been a bit longer to allow for more development. I'll have to make a date with the iPlayer.
