This weekend I shall be mostly watching Game of Thrones on DVD. Now to see what the fuss was about! I love my Virgin Cable but sometimes I wish I had Sky :/

I watched Cirque Du Soliel's "Quidam" on Sky+ last night. Absolutely amazing stuff. The 98 minutes just flew by from one jaw-dropping stunt to the next. While in between there would be incredibly beautiful, graceful things that defied belief and gravity. Jolly well done. It wasn't one of the gigs that NickDV played but I could imagine him doing it, a very varied almost continuous soundtrack.

For those who liked Lost etc, recommend Awake. The end of episode 2 starts the 'oooh it's actually a conspiracy... ' Which I guess is a bit of a spoiler but to be honest, wasn't totally unexpected.

Between 1989 and 1993, we lived in the town of Woburn (pronounced Woo-bn). One of the first things we were told was not to drink the water because it was contaminated. Not so long ago, I found that there is a film about the resultant court case - with proper actors like John Travolta and Robert Duvall. I bought it on DVD and watched it last night. Good film - obviously I have an attachment to the story. It all happened in the early 80s.

Songwriter's Circle on BBC4 - well, it's just finished, but it'll be on iPlayer.
Martin Simpson, Steve Tilston and Michael Chapman. It doesn't get much better than that, really. The perfect antidote to a weekend of fey, whimsical prog bollocks.
