I'm reminded of a poor chap named Alan, the inspiration for aliases. No one recalls his proper surname, but unforgettable is the horrific tale of how he fell from a hot air balloon while wearing a kilt and, as he fell, he tore his scrotum on a church steeple, and severed his  testicles, which were thought to have rolled into a rain gutter. Dangling from the roof of the church, he used a sliver as a needle and strands from his kilt to close his wound. He's said to have lived a long, if delicate, life. While it was the talk of the town at the time, he never gave his name and thus he came to be referred to as Al Sew No Nads.
