And The House of Progression at The Peel is pleased to announce that the support for From Great Height is...

Pedro and his amazing spoons.

And Rog would know. Who could forget his fantastic cover of Topographic Oceans for mixed spoons and car horn?

Magical stuff.

I've never been quite drunk enough to awaken on a washboard.

I know what the big secret is. Simon and Rob are being investigated for careless use of song titles in an interview.

Again?!

And can I just say that, just when I thought there was nothing more that The Daily Shit could "write" that would astonish me, they present the world with this, the mother of all non-stories.

This serious story has been trivialised by the "writer's" inclusion of several band names, song and film titles: The Police, Zulu (starring Michael Caine), Battery (by Thrash Metal godfathers Metallica) and "An investigation by the Metropolitan Police Directorate of Professional Standards" by Girls Aloud.

Utter, utter loose-stool water of the lowest order. The Daily Shit. I shit it.

The "journalists" are as nothing for that rag, though, compared with the "readers" who comment on the stories. There was once illiterate recently who remarked that we were putting Wayne Rooney on a "pedal stool" these days...

Read up on 'eggcorns'. These are errors that come when someone doesn't know the right thing but thinks about it and comes up with something plausable.

One of my favourites is 'escape goat'.
