It will be interesting to see how many people turn up for Panic Room in two weeks.  I haven't seen the band do much promotion, and the Peel isn't doing any.

So, something happened at The Peel last night that I'd not seen before. Twang cleared the bar before doors and we all had to queue up outside. George did the tickets from a table positioned in front of the doors to the bar, rather than his cage (it's probably nicer for him tbh  Grin). Once inside, the double doors through to the bar from the performed area where opened up, so that yu could walk though to the other bar, without going out and in again, if that makes sense.

It was quite good, although there was a LOT of chatter from the bar which was especially noticeable in Magenta's quieter passages.

It's not a compliant, I was just curious as to why really.

The sound last night was easily the best I've heard at The Peel. I guess Magenta aren't the loudest on stage band in the wold, but the instrument balance was almost perfect, the keyboards and especially Chris Fry's guitar were beautifully blended. There was quite a lot of use of, at a guess, a Taurus pedal emulator to underpin some passages and when this kicked in it was very well mixed in, both powerful, clear and well balanced.

I wasn't at the front but certainly Chritina was using in ear monitors, and I guess if they were all using them, that might have hoped, not having to compete with loads of on stage volume.

Whoever the sound guy was did a brilliant job and if I was a band playing there I'd want him. I know it's not easy in a small place like that, but it was outstanding IMHO. A masterclass in live sound mixing, even, if I may be so bold.

They did that for the Touchstone / Tinyfish gig last December, if I remember correctly. A good indication of a gig selling well, I'd hope.  Smiley

I'm glad you noticed  Grin. We open the room up when we've sold 100+ tickets. I want people to be comfortable. Also there was a football crowd in so it was decided to do the door a the front to control things. Great gig!!

I have tickets for all of those gigs already.  That doesn't mean you'll be able to buy them over the counter, of course.
