OK we were taking a break for Hols & Fests but these came through.

SATURDAY 16th JULY EBONY TOWER, ONLY UNTIL + AN ACOUSTIC DUO FROM THE UNI & MATES OF E.T.

FRIDAY 5th AUGUST TALANAS,SPIRES, F.G.H. (BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR FEST WARM UP)

For fans of M.D.B., ANATHEMA, OPETH.

"A forceful slab of progressive extremity"
...METAL HAMMER MAGAZINE

"Truly fascinating, in a modern way"
CLASSIC ROCK PRESENTS PROG MAGAZINE

"A Mechagodzilla of homepride filth"
TERRORIZER MAGAZINE

"Every so often, a band comes along that have the ability to reaffirm one’s faith in extreme metal... absolutely blistering progressive extremity... This is clearly one of the best-written and tightly executed releases the UK has produced in a very long time: thinking man’s metal for the new millennium. Essential."
ZERO TOLERANCE MAGAZINE (tom blackwell)

"this is  awesome ...officially "much better than interlock" (copyright D. Lawson 2010) it's the splendid talanas! Sharp, brutal and box fresh, Talanas are one of the most exciting new UK bands I've heard in ages..."
DOM LAWSON

"EP is stunning. Talanas is born. Self defining, original monstrous slabs of songs perfectly married with technicality. A genuinely exciting listen. Let me know when your next gig is so I can come along and punch folk in the pit. Pray Speed the Fever."
JASON MENDONÇA (Akercocke)

"I'm enjoying it immensely. It showcases great musicianship across the board and is engaging and memorable. Now, when's the album coming?"
MARTIN CURTIS-POWELL (ex-My Dying Bride /Aanathema / Cradle of Filth)

"Talanas offer brutality with brains. If you demand art to be inspired, intelligent and intense; then you need to seek out "reason & abstract" immediately."
HAMISH GLENCROSS (My Dying Bride)

"Been listening to the EP and absorbing it and i think its fantastic, i can tell there's a gargantuan amount of work gone into it ...i'm seriously impressed with what you've done."
RUSS RUSSELL (producer)

"...Spacious, powerful production and bewitchingly labyrinthine song structures ...seething with considered technicality whilst taking great care to maintain the balance in dynamics... An assured, professional and characterful debut that points to potential greatness in the not-too-distant future."
METALTEAMUK (frank allain)

"If you love progressive death metal in the vain of Akercocke and Opeth, you might well be in luck with this promising first release from the London-based five-piece."
THE QUIETUS (jenn selby)

"...this is an EP that left me salivating and wanting more! ...this blend is as intoxicating as intriguing. This EP is again proving that London is doing quite well in the music and Metal community."
METAL RULES (danny draper)

"Another interesting UK metal band who are actually striking off in directions that others aren't. Thank christ for that."
A MODEL OF CONTROL (adam williams)

Combining all the furiosity of extreme metal with atmospheric soundscapes influenced by the darker leanings of the 80s & 90s mainstream, talanas have made their stamp with a CD that has now been distributed across 3 continents, presenting a prog-based take on modern metal whilst maintaining a definitive sense of approachability.

Featuring ex members of interlock (Anticulture Records), The Debut Album 'The Waspkeeper'OUT NOW through Eulogy Media.

SPIRES
'Picking a favourite moment from my listening experience of Spiral Of Ascension is such a hard call, because it feels like a musical journey from start to finish and to enjoy it fully you must immerse yourself in the full 65 minutes of power!' 9/10 - Zorro, Sonic Shocks.

That August Friday clashes with CRF so I won't be able to make it.

I'll try to get along to the July one though.

Am I right in thinking that the David Cross band featuring Craig Blundell are playing the Peel some time soon? Blunders posted it on Facebook but now I can't find it anywhere...

DEC BURKE SAT 17th SEPTEMBER!

Dec Burke has now confirmed SAT 17th Sept. I know we've had to move this show twice now but that's because Dec has a new set of musicians including Paddy Darlington on keys who had other commitments on the previous dates.

Dec will also have a new album. All tickets valid of course.
