James, have you thought of becoming a superhero? I'm sure they do less training than this...

I've seen a training plan for a superhero and it is a step up...I'm going to give it a go after I get the London Marathon out of the way  Grin

Thanks, Mike, and so do I - got training which needs to be done.  If I get some time today I'm going to try an easy run with a knee support on.

James, as somebody who has suffered with bad knees for years, you have my sympathy. One of my bad knees was due to a motorcycle accident and only diagnosed more than 20 years later (when everything started to wear out) and the other knee suffered due to compensation. As with most joint problems, you only realise how much work they do when they start to give you problems, which for me means no running, no cycling with any effort involved, and varying levels of pain when walking, getting up from being sat down, or even just standing.
My advice (from the pain corner) would be talk to a physio. The exercises suggested by my physio have done wonders, but they have added the best part of another hour a day to any other exercise regime I'm trying to implement.
Best of luck.

Thanks, Trace - I am going to consult a physio, and my running has got in the way of doing other exercise, so I need to find a better balance there.  Squats and lunges are the order of the day  Grin

Just did a 2.6mile walk to the Giant (bike brand) store in Swansea.  Then came back to the office and ordered a bike from the Giant website for home delivery and setup.

Decided to get a hybrid bike that I can cycle on the canal paths by me.

I want to get out and cycle more but I'm lacking confidence on the roads and my road bike is too stiff and has skinny 23mm tyres not suitable for the canal path.

So no more excuses I will get out and cycle as much as I can when I have my new bike.

Walked 2.5 miles from the train station to home after getting back from London this afternoon, sat down had lunch whilst I watched the Paris-Nice and Tirrreno-Adriactico cycling races on tv. Then I took the new bike out for a spin.

Ended up doing 10.85 miles from Tonna to Baglan and back again on the Neath Canal path:

Are you on Strava, Mike ?  There appear to be a lot of cyclists on there, and a really friendly atmosphere between them.
