Dear all,

Nothing stays very quiet here at The Crow's Nest for too long. While we're hiding ourselves away getting going on the writing process for TBRS we are also already looking at some possible festival gigs for Spring/Summer/Autumn 2012 and we would like to ask for your help.

We have contacted a number of festival organisers already (in the USA, Netherlands and Germany) but we would love to know from you guys which festivals you would like to see us playing at. If you have any contact information for those festivals as well, then so much the better.

Have think, jot down your ideas here and if you feel so disposed, find out who we would need to get in touch with. Thanks everyone... in advance!

Eek! that's great - I'll put my thinking cap on. I have pre-booked pass for a weekend or so of Tinyfish related activity next year as Mme Cholet is taking her mum on holiday, so that will be great.

I guess Loreley is the obvious one, but I guess you already know that.

Blackpool for the Electric Garden?

Night of The Prog at Loreley already contacted and we're trying to give the guys that organised Electric Garden a bit of a breather before we start pestering them, but thanks for the thoughts!

Cambridge Rock Festival - but I've already been banging on to Rob about this.

There is a prog festival about the same time as SE at the Spirit of 66 in Verviwe in Belgium.  The bands playing there suggest a chance.  http://www.spiritof66.be/agendouble.php?dateaffichage=1318024800

Mattfest IV?

I trying to think of what else I've seen on my various e-travels.

I/O Pages Festival at the Boerderij - I'm not sure if it was a one-off.

ProgSud in Marseille - http://progsudfestival.nuxit.net/accueil.html

i think we should do our own. We've got the talent, the contacts and the expertise, and if not, we know someone who can.

How difficult can it be ?

Tosserfest?  Wink  Grin

About currently existing festivals, how do people go about getting on at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds? Yes, I am being serious.

Thanks for the continued replies and thoughts everyone.

ProgSud is a festival we are interested in and one for whom contact details have been sought but... some festival organisers do appear to be hiding themselves away. Probably because they don't wish to be inundated with requests from the likes of us.

Electric garden is a festival we would be dead keen to play at and some enquiries have been made. You'll understand though that this was a first time experience for the guys that organised it and so we are backing away from getting all pushy to allow them to recoup their energy and decide if they want to give it another crack next year. RoSfest runs on rails but that's not to say that George and Krista were not complete jibbering wrecks by the time the doors opened - who knows how stressful it must have been for the Electric garden organisers.

How does one get into consideration for the likes of Glasto, Reading, Leeds, Sonisphere, Download, Ozzfest, Monsters of Rock et al? First off, probably best not describe yourself as a "Prog" band. Second off, be signed to a major label. Third off, have a booking agent. Fourth off, be the darling of the indy music press. Fifth off... who knows. If anyone would like to try to find out what they can about the booking process for these bigger, corporate sponsored shindigs, feel free!

As for organising our OWN festival? Interesting thought. I dare say we shall think on that some more.

Thanks again everyone and keep those suggestions coming.
