I am confused.

I seem to have picked up an incredibly unhealthy obsession for Petanque since returning from France. I spend time watching matches on YouTube and may have used entirely too much money buying a set as well.

my niece brought the game home from France after she spent her last year of high school there.  we often play when visiting.  great game!  she just recently moved here, and I should ask her whether she brought a set with her.

I associate Pétanque with endless summer nights in the Bretagne countryside, seafood, beer, wine, sailing and general good times. I might have a nostalgic cry now...

I associate it woith Tourettes.

The quaint village of Tourettes-Sur-Loup on the way from Nice to Grasse - it is the last place I saw frenchmen playing it.

Neeedless to say we stopped simply for the photo by the town name sign sticking two fingers up at the camera. One day I'll grow up. Just not today.  Grin

Don't know whether I'm excited or terrified. I have a day today on which the rest of my life turns.

Why is it in France it's called Petanque, but in England it's called Boules (in a French accent)?

Boules is a collective name for games played with metal balls, one of which is petanque.

My BlackBerry does that automatically, whether I want it to or not.  I was not typing from my BlackBerry.

I didn't put the line either because I couldn't be bothered to look for the proper letter with accent. I'm just lazy and there's no excuse. Tongue
