Ecelectic end of the week. Thursday is Steve Hackett at the St Davids Hall in Cardiff, then back to the same venue on Friday (mostly to avoid trick or treaters) for 5 seats behind the orchestra for Beethoven's 5th (the music not the film)

School concerts this week.  My middle school kids are singing Bohemian Rhapsody, so I'm keeping the prog on....

The answer is now, it isn't :-/ Knifeworld were supposed to be on at 4pm at this festival in Camden, but have been moved out to 7pm, so I can't see them :-(

Botheration.

November is a slightly busy month for gigs.

Saturday is the Steve Rothery Band in London, then we have Lifesigns and Lazuli/Moon Safari coming to Cardiff.

After that there's just Marillion in December and I think that's it for the year.

Hackett - excellent, but I'd expect nothing less - I would have preferred fewer of the older songs and played something from W&W - Your Own Special Way, for example.  And we didn't get anything after that unlike other venues:

Luna Rossa - acoustic evening with harp, double bass - and a small but considerate crowd.  I do like songs stripped back, and as with everything that they do, it worked really well.  I'll look forward to getting the album.

Next up - Pendragon.

Pendragon were terrific.

Claire, Hannah, Bo, David and I did a mad mini-tour of the Netherlands.  Saturday evening was the Boerderij to see Ray Wilson who was absolutely stunning - definitely top 6 gigs of the year.  Sunday afternoon we saw RPWL in Den Bosch - the last time that they're doing the Wanted show and it was excellent.  Poor Yogi could barely talk by the end, but they did manage the encore of Roses, which is a song that carries a lot of meaning with me.

Next up - Larry Miller to purge myself of prog.
