I'll keep this open until next Monday. Once we've got all the votes in I'll send out a separate message asking everyone to confirm so I can make an appropriate booking.

Have just remembered that I am doing a radio show (Reading Uni so don't get excited) on the 30th, so 31st is the only day I can do...

Okay, we're looking at seven votes for either date, 1 for the Tuesday, and 1 for the Wednesday (Robert, via his comment). I've also had two PMs, both in favour of Tuesday 30th, so that's looking like the favourite date. Sorry Rob.

Okay...next thing, then - please send me a pm by the end of this week if you'd like to be there on 30th. The place I'd like us to go to is quite popular, so I'll need to book a bit in advance. It'll be in Brick Lane or nearby.

For starters, Guy, Julie and young Nathaniel will be there (I'm presuming) as will Yvette, The Spoff and myself.

Are there nearby tube stations / parking?

Aldgate East tube station is right around the corner.

Parking is not easy around that part of London if, like me, you don't like to pay for parking.

Tube is by far the easiest way to get there - as James says, Aldgate East, or alternatively Liverpool Street might suit.

What time is this going to be as it looks like I might be up in London during the day on the 30th, but would need to get a train back at a reasonable hour of the evening.

I'd suggest a 6.30-7.00 start to give everyone who needs to get home plenty of time.

Sounds perfect for me but I guess I'll be in work clothes rather than my Shineback Teeshirt!
