We're half way through 2009 already.  I was looking through the albums released in 2009 so far (new material - there are some really good live albums also).  My favourites are (in no particular order):
  • Curious Things
  • Touchstone - Wintercoast
  • Dead Heroes Club - A Time Of Shadow

I'm always interested in other opinions because I don't want to miss out on something really good.

I highly recommend Tick Tock by Gazpacho. It's a beautiful record and you can download it for about a fiver either on iTunes or on Amazon. Joe Bonamassa's The Ballad Of John Henry is superb as well. His version of Jockey Full Of Bourbon is just brilliant.  Smiley  IQ with Frequency...

Hmm, I really should buy more modern releases. The majority of my album buying so far this year has been on Rush albums.

A few decent pop albums

Little Boots was really good, La Roux is very good in parts, and the Pet Shop Boys album was their best in a long time

Can't wait to hear the Florence and the Machine album after the write ups it has been getting.

Album of the year so far has to be IQ - Frequency

Oi!  A lot of them don't count because they're not 2009 releases.
