Pedro, I can't help thinking that the bottom of your (coffee) mug looks like an incomplete smiley face. There's the smile, but no eyes!
....are you sure?....

I got forty-three quid for the pile of junk that is my old Nissan. I will shortly be driving a different vehicle home, hopefully...a Ford Mondeo which doesn't let in the rain.
Felt a bit funny consigning the old car to the scrap merchant, I'd had it for nearly twelve years...but it was time, the gears were making some very odd noises on the way to CarGiant. And no hard-sell, they gave me plenty of time to look the car over (not that it would make any difference) and I got a decent cup of tea at their diner place

Finding out I've got an interview on friday
tempered with the knowledge that it's for my own job and I am not keen on the new boss
tempered by the fact that it's good practice for the new year when I hope to get an interview for a job i DO want.

Thanks awf'ly - the worst thing is I have to wear a suit - I hate wearing a suit when I have to, I don't mind so much when it's my choice/

Strange; that's exactly how I feel about suits as well.
I also have a question for any sartorial gent out there. How come suits always look sophisticated on people like Kevin McCloud but when your average bod in the streets wears the same outfit, it looks as if they are some kind of dishevelled, out of work game keeper.
...I say average bod in the street but I think we all understand that the dishevelled, out of work game keeper in question is yours truly.

Generally, if you spend a lot of money on a good made-to-measure suit, it looks a lot better than an off-the-peg number as most people are not an off-the-peg standard size and shape. I bet Kevin McCloud doesn't buy his suits from Burton's or Top Man or M & S.

Kevin McCloud is a design deity and as such wafts his suits into being with a wave of his magnificent Grand Designs hand. And a smirk, obviously.
