My Son Thomas's aged 5) excuse for scoffing a Locket cough sweet instead of sucking it slowly like I suggested.

Q - Have you eaten that sweet already Thomas?

A - A Squirrel pushed it in.

Genius! A chip off the old block and no mistake. How could anyone be angry at such a cheeky comment as that?

Thank you - it's a really busy and frustrating day - loads of people away and this has just brought a huge smile to my face.

Similar story with my boy from a few years back

We were having a lie in and didn't realise he was in the kitchen.  When we came downstairs there were rice krispies all over the floor.  When questioned he said "foxes did it".  The best thing is that it is such a great wind up story now he is older.

I've got Thomas again in 2 weeks time so I'll see what he comes up with and post another soon.

Here's another:

While walking down to The Meadows in Edinburgh (a park that seperates the Old Town from posh Morningside) we passed Marcus: "the worst Sax player in the world" who was busking with his mates in roughly the same place as he had been 2 weeks previously.

C - Look Thomas, there's Marcus again.

T - Wow, is he still there?

Brilliant! I don't know what we did but it was right.

An acquaintance's uncle recently passed away. Apparently, his final words were 'F*ck of an gie' me peace'

I hope I go with that much style...

Brilliant, I couldn't agree more.

I have a mate who wants his gravestone to just give his name and the phrase: 'None the wiser'. It's also his wish to have the song 'Muh Nam A Nah' played as he dissapears through the curtains. Genius if you ask me.

Being american I do not know what this means, but congrats to your daughter anyway.

Cheers,
Woody

Can I be a proud or even, dare I say it, smug parent?

Today my daughter won a GOLD Blue Peter badge!  I'm as proud as punch!

Think of all the zoo's and museums we can get into now!  Shocked

One my cats and I have a little routine going first thing..

I live in a sixth floor flat and my kitchen looks directly onto the main balcony. As I leave in the morning, Hotei will jump up onto the kitchen windowsil and as I tap the glass on the outside he'll rub his head against the inside window where my hand is. It's the sweetest thing ever.

This morning he actually used his paw to pat where my hand was and it's kept me smiling all day Smiley
