The first rule of Fat Club is that you do NOT talk about Fat Club....

Ah Simon, I can always count on you Smiley That was exactly my intention Cheesy

Still contemplating my first, although I know I'll definitely get a snake done in 2013 (year of !)... Really like the idea of cat paw prints, or a cat stretched out with claws, clawing down..

Sarah what was your first? Does it still have meaning for you? xxx

I have had four in as many years not. First is a wee black star, about 2 cm in size, on my torso, about 2 inches under the centre of my bra. My best friend wanted to get me my first tattoo as my 18th birthday present. It's simple, pretty, feminine, and classic and I absolutely love love love it. Second is a swirly design up my calf that was free as a practice for a friend who was apprenticing. No sentiment behind it but I always get nice comments when I waar a skirt. Third was (c)1987 on the back of my neck. 21st Birthday present to myself, a bit of fun, kind of like a barbie stamp, and to show I'm one of a kind.
My new one is the first I have in colour, the rest are all black, and it ties in my mum and dad and what we've all been through in the past year, and my siblings, nephews and niece. I LOVE it. It's stunning even though it's currently scabby and minging.

The advice I would give is to decide on a definate design, once you absolutely can't get out your head. Even draw it on where you want it to see if you like the placement. Shop around different tattoo places, and definately get recommendations and see work they have done before you commit to a place. Get them to design your piece properly and do not be afraid to niggle and say 'I want that bit higher or smaller or different'. It is their job to ink you for life and make sure you are happy with it. If you aren't then that will be bad press for them and if someone seems unwilling to make changes, then go somewhere else.

Paw prints sound cute, maybe going up your ankle or something?

Oh yes, it's the Marillion Weekender. The Reasoning are playing on the bill so I have read.
