There are many cynics out there, and I suppose from time to time we can all be included in that, I know so many people who poo-poo this kind of show, but if this show ever had any purpose, or credibility, surely this film shows you exactly what that is. I must confess to weeping watching this, it's simply astounding!

Yee Gads, that is quite astonishing. It just goes to show what kind of talented people there really are out there being ignored or overlooked just because of the way they look. Paul Potts won the first one of these, with an equally brilliant voice, and similarly without the looks usually required for media people to take notice.

Now THAT's talent. In an age where mediocrity is celebrated, it's refreshing to see some genuine talent get it's moment in the spotlight. Long may it continue.

Got to do old-skool rave dancing in the Royal Festival Hall as Royksopp cut up a storm with Eple and Poor Leno as their encores.

It's slightly weird dancing in a venue you've more often seen an orchestra in, but it's not the first time after The Bays earlier this year.

Oh and pre-ordering the new IQ album from F2 made me smile in anticipation too.

I'd like to thank the little piscine ones fror getting me back into this wonderful music we call prog - I've discovered The Reasoning, eagerly anticipating the new Pallas and IQ releases, and have got a few skeletons out of the closet and on to the iPod as well as of course the first one and a half Tinyfish albums.

I am hoping that my mate will make me smile...seeing as how he is on the bill of a stand-up comedy night I am going to this evening.

Also featuring Al Rudge, the 'support act' to Frost* from their Christmas gig at The Peel, as the main act - so I am certainly looking forward to seeing him again.

My mate did not make me smile, because he pulled out during the course of the day.  So, given that I turned up as a surprise to him, the joke was probably on me...

Al Rudge was superb again, though, even with material which was familiar to me - which I always think highlights a talent.

http://ancientblackmagic.com

made me smile because of its po-faced tone coupled with 100% pure tossology. This bollockhead wouldn't know magic if it came up and ate his sandwiches.

Beautifully designed website though.

I'd say I'll see you there but it's unlikely in a place that size  Cheesy  I am in the first tier of seating, so thankfully not right up in the gods...

But I will be there, and very much looking forward to seeing The Answer as well.

Anybody offering the Necronomicon as an instant download for $9.99 has to know what they are talking about, don't they?

I am sending him my credit card details as I write this.

I've no idea who he is to be honest. I've had a look through his friends and there are a few of mine in there but the majority I don't know, so I reckon he's just gone down the 'people you may know' route.

What did he do to make you smile?

Oh, we had a long back and forth conversation about attempting to reintegrate into society as one of the undead. From a psychiatrist/patient POV. He threatened to eat my receptionist.

Ha, brilliant. It's certainly interesting to read the nonsense he posts. He's got over 100 friends now though which is pretty impressive.

The Answer were really good last night, but nothing was going to come close to that performance from AC/DC, although it did go to prove that although the tracks off the new album are good enough to be in the set, they are not at the level of the classics - but then what is ?

The classics from last night, in the order they came...

Hell Ain't No Bad Place To Be, Back In Black, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Shot Down In Flames, The Jack, Hells Bells, Shoot To Thrill, You Shook Me All Night Long, TNT, Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, Highway To Hell and For Those About To Rock

Whole Lotta Rosie was the best track of the night.  Well, it was until they played Let There Be Rock  Grin
